APICBASE nails €700k in growth capital

The Belgian ‘food tech’ startup APICBASE received €700.000 in a round led by BAN Vlaanderen. The funding will be used to accelerate growth and invest in European expansion.

Founded in 2014, APICBASE offers a cloud based food management platform which helps food companies to manage their kitchen backend more efficiently, ranging from importing ingredients to generating detailed bills of materials, saving time and money on menu engineering, procurement and data management.

One of the key advantages of APICBASE is a SaaS suite and a hardware tool, called APICBASE Studio, which helps chefs to capture high quality images without knowledge of photography and share them through websites and social media channels.

“The biggest asset of our software and hardware is that they are developed to be user-friendly. We help restaurants, hotels, restaurant chains and food producers to offer a high-quality customer experience at any time,” claims Carl Jacobs, CEO and co-founder of APICBASE.

Over the past years, the startup has built a portfolio of top customers and gourmet restaurants based in more than 15 countries, including some major players in the food industry like Unilever, Sodexo, LSG Sky Chefs, Puratos and Cuisine Solutions.

With the recent capital increase, APICBASE is gearing up for further growth and European expansion.
