Carrefour takes over Romanian Bringo platform

Local subsidiary of French retailer Carrefour has taken over Bringo app, developed by the Romanian team of Ascend NetSolutions, a press release informs.

Thus, Carrefour becomes the majority shareholder of the local business that provides home delivery services, after has acquired a further 21 percent stake in Bringo for an undisclosed sum, increasing its ownership share to 51 percent.

“At present, Bringo Magazin SRL is owned by two companies: Allib Rom SRL, a company of Carrefour group, and Ascend Netsolution SRL,” Carrefour press release reads.

Established in 2001 on the domestic market, Carrefour Romania currently has a network of 267 units across the country – 32 hypermarkets, 53 express units, 172 market stores and 10 contact stores.

Bringo Magazin is the company that operates the Bringo platform, through which the products of various stores can be ordered and received by buyers directly at home.
