On May 2-3, EU-Startups going to host the EU-Startups Summit in sunny Barcelona! At the annual flagship event, a showcase selection of Europe’s hottest startups and come together to learn from some of the most successful European entrepreneurs of our time.
Audience/Focus: The EU-Startups Summit 2019 will bring together over 1,200 founders, startup enthusiasts, corporates, angel investors, VCs, as well as media people from all across Europe. The two-day event is a great opportunity for networking, and a meeting point for aspiring entrepreneurs and investors who are aiming to build international tech companies. We will have fireside chats with internationally successful founders, great networking opportunities, workshops, and an exciting pitch competition on the main stage with 15 startup teams – selected from over 1,000 applications!
The Speakers
At the EU-Startups Summit 2019, we’ll have many high-profile entrepreneurs and investors among our speakers. The first speaker we announced a few weeks ago is Funderbeam founder and CEO Kaidi Ruusalepp! Founded in 2013, Funderbeam is building the global startup stock-exchange – with a modern syndication system and blockchain-based. The fast-growing company is headquartered in Tallinn, Estonia, has raised $10.5 million in funding and employs an international team of ~50 people. Read more about Kaidi here.
Avi Meir, the founder and CEO of TravelPerk. Founded in 2015, TravelPerk is the world’s first all-in-one platform for booking business travel that is 100% free. Today, the Barcelona-based startup is one of the fastest growing ‘Software as a Service’ companies in Europe. TravelPerk has the world’s largest inventory, best-of-breed technology, consumer-grade design and a very disruptive business model. AirHelp founder and CEO Henrik Zillmer. Founded in 2013 and headquartered in Gdansk (Poland), AirHelp is the world’s leading flight compensation company with more than 550 employees, and offices across the world. AirHelp is already available in 30 countries, offers support in 16 languages, and has so far helped more than 7 million people process airline compensation claims worth about €800 million in total reimbursement. Till Faida is the founder and CEO of Adblock Plus (eyeo) – the world’s most popular browser extension and most used ad blocking solution. Adblock Plus was downloaded over 1 billion times so far and provides users more control over their surfing experience. The scale-up already employs about 130 people, and in 2017 they acquired the popular micropayments service Flattr. According to a recent speech by Tim Schumacher, an early investor in the company, Adblock Plus (eyeo) already reaches €40 million in annual revenue and roughly €25 million in profits. Tugce Bulut, the founder and CEO of Streetbees. Founded 2015 in London, Streetbees is a global intelligence platform that reveals how people behave by analysing real-life moments collected from over 1 million Streetbees users from 150+ countries. By applying advanced natural language processing technology, Streetbees uncovers what they do, why they do it, and what they may do next. Naren Shaam, the founder and CEO of GoEuro. Founded in 2012 in Berlin, GoEuro today is the leading booking platform for transport across Europe. The company’s over 300 employees are on a mission to unify transport and to facilitate more convenient travel booking. In total, GoEuro was able to raise about €261 million in funding from some of the world’s leading investors. GoEuro already partners with 800+ European transport operators and offers ground/air travel options in 36 European countries, and more than 27 million people use GoEuro each month. Also joining on stage will be Marco Trombetti, the founder and CEO of Translated.com and of the VC firm Pi Campus, Dr. Jens Wohltorf, the founder and CEO of Blacklane ( a leading provider of ride services in Europe), and Michael Cassau, the founder and CEO of Grover (a fast-growing company innovating in the field of circular economy).

Pitch Competition
During the EU-Startups Summit, a big pitch competition with 15 of Europe’s most exciting early-stage startups. The pre-selected startups are going to pitch their business idea within a 3-minute-presentation in front of the audience and an expert jury of well known investors. The winner will receive an awesome prize package worth €70,000. The application phase of the pitch competition will end on February 25. More info here.

The EU-Startups Summit will also gather hundreds of Europe’s leading Venture Capital investors, business angels and accelerators. As a startup, you can directly engage with them, and we are proud to have one of the best startup-investor ratios of any startup event out there. Timings & Tickets
The main event will take place on May 2-3, from 10am to 6pm. In the evenings we’ll have a nice after-party for continued networking. The concrete agenda for the main stage and for the workshop stage will follow soon.
Compared to other major tech events, we keep our ticket prices affordable, starting at €149 for startup founders and wantrepreneurs, €295 for investors, and €395 for corporates and service providers. Tickets are available here.
